The Beginning of the End of 2025 & Mythic Magazine #60
It's difficult to believe that it's already December 2025. This year has been filled with change, challenges, and opportunities. And who knows what else it has left in store for us before 2026 rolls around.
There are so many things that I regret over the years, and many more that I would change. But there's also been so many fantastic things, too. And some of those things wouldn't have been possible without the bad. I would go back and do anything to not have to experience anxiety, burnout, and borderline depression. But without it, and the journey of recovery, I wouldn't have had the courage or the clarity to make a massive change in my life. To remove something that was doing me harm.
So, I find it interesting that I should feel some of these things, and then today's random selection from Dokkōdō be “Do not regret what you have done”. That it's important to extract, and accept the mistakes so that you can lean from them, and grow. That each decision shapes who we are, and who we become. And it really does. Certain decisions and experiences have changed who I am from the very core.
Before this gets too deep, I'm going to end it there. Did not expect this post to take that turn.
On a brighter note, the latest issue of Mythic Magazine (#60) is pretty damn good. It features a fun Fantasy World Crafter. Certainly going to be getting my creative juices sloshing.
The Grimdark world I began to create over an incredibly rainy lunch break certainly isn't very bright, though. Wracked with war, ruin, and consequence. And an incredible amount of personal monsters to deal with. Could make for an interesting world.
Perhaps it's that personal monsters part that resulted in the thoughts for the first half of this post.
