Planning a New Home Office

I've been working from home full-time now since the beginning of the pandemic. It's changed a little during that time, but for the most part, has remained the same. I think it's time for an update.

I've spent some time this weekend attempting to figure out what I want and need, both furniture and equipment-wise. And it's been harder than I expected. The one thing that I am sure about is that I require a standing desk again. I used to have a cheaper adjustable one for the very rare days I was in the office on site, and always missed it when I was at home.

The other major purchase I'm considering is a monitor upgrade. The current one is a ~7 year(ish) HP 4K. And, compared to the screen on the 16" MacBook Pro, it just doesn't look that great any more. It's also connected through a dock via DisplayLink, which comes with its oddities.

This is going to cost far more than I wanted it to, isn't it …
