This popped up in my feeds a few days ago, and I thought it was fascinating.

Japan Post launches ‘digital address’ system
Under the system, users can input seven-digit codes on online shopping websites, and their addresses will automatically appear on the sites.

Rather than providing your address to online stores, you would instead provide your 7-digit code, which can then be used to look up the address. This address can also be updated in the background, while the 7-digit code remains the same.

I think this is a very intriguing way of keeping your address up to date, while simplifying how you provide your address for deliveries.

Imagine never having to think about where your address is out of date again. That pre-order you placed 3 months ago? It's still going to arrive at the correct place. Providing you submitted your change of address, of course!

I'm excited to see how this goes as they roll the service out. Not that I have any skin in the game, being in the UK.
