It's Friday!
It's day 2 of my second round of 100DaystoOffload, and it's Friday. What a long ol' week it's been. But a good one. Full of new challenges and interesting problems. But it's been tough.
Today has been busy, so I'm writing this much later than I wanted to be, but I couldn't allow myself to fail on day 2. That would be about right, though.
A few days ago, I decided to figure out how long I've been writing a journal in the evenings. I was really surprised by the number. I also wanted to figure out how many meditation days were done.
Journal: 1308 consecutive days
Meditation: 621 consecutive days
I'm pretty happy with those numbers. Especially the journalling. I've tried a few times to get started, and it never stuck. This time it did.
Each evening after writing, I also like to pick one of the 21 precepts of Dokkōdō by Miyamoto Musashi, and attempt to apply it to how I feel about the day. I never write about that part, simply think and reflect upon it.
Today's random was number 6. “Do not regret what you have done”. An extract from this is that our history informs us. We should embrace what has happened, grow from it, and press on with confidence.
I've found the book to be incredibly helpful, and also expanding upon with The Book of Five Rings.
